FIRST Gage pic

Basically every character I've created went through a similar process. I would put down the time and date as if it was 'born'. No more than a week later I would send it to the Copyright office and any alterations made thereafter. I recommend every artist to do this. Yea it's $30 a pop but it's worth it in my opinion.

As you can see in this picture, I would draw the real animal (here I went by memory), alter it's image to suit needs in a story or book (ie hero, villain, romeo and so on) often while listening to music. While listening to Prince back in '94 and a thing for lemurs, "Gage" was born. Though rather odd looking at first, basically I wanted a dark haired freaky monkey. As you can see here he started as being orange...
